Rich, famous and happy?
Some years ago I visited Gracelands', the home of Elvis Presley, in
One couldn't help but be impressed by the success of this man, and yet I left with a sense of sadness. Now, it's not for me to express an opinion on the life of someone who continues to bring pleasure to many, but, amidst all the richness of success, I couldn't help but feel that something was missing.
The Fact is
Six weeks before he died, Elvis was asked -
Elvis, when you started playing music, you said you wanted three things in life -
to be rich, famous, and happy. Are you happy Elvis?
Elvis replied, No, I'm as lonely as hell.
There must be more to life!
If happiness depends on being rich or famous, or being endowed with other material securities, then a lot of us will miss out on happiness.
But there is more to life.
There is a way to happiness, and it is Jesus who makes all the difference.
This is a fact that has been discovered by millions of people around the world who have become Christians. This is our experience too as members of this church - the Southgate Christian Fellowship. We have put together this section of our website in order to share something of this with you.
